Located on the Mendocino Coast of Northern California, Jug Handle Creek Nature Center has been a focus for nature education, scientific research, and quiet contemplation since 1969.
We believe that nature education is central to inhabiting a healthy planet. To support our vision, we offer overnight indoor and camping accommodations so individuals, families, and school groups can spend ample time in these precious coastal habitats.

Grow with Us
Jug Handle’s native plant nursery grows local indigenous trees, shrubs and perennials for public restoration projects, commercial plantings, mitigation projects and home gardens. We take special orders, click to learn more.
Stay with Us
Our 33-acre property can host groups of all sizes, with several cabins, a bunkhouse, a farmhouse, and campgrounds. Enjoy our gardens, forests, meadows, and nature trails, as well as Jug Handle State Reserve Beach and the Ecological Staircase from your front door.
