Guided Ecological Staircase Hike

Step through time on the Ecological Staircase, a 2.5-mile hike where ancient marine terraces rise from the coast into redwood and rare pygmy forests, each level telling a story millions of years in the making.

We will be meeting on the West side of the highway at Jug Handle State Natural Reserve.

Parking here: 15700 CA-1, Caspar, CA 95420

You can learn more about the Ecological Staircase ecology here.

Or visit the AllTrails Page here.

We invite guests of all ages to dress in layers, wear sturdy shoes, bring water, and a snack. Hats and hiking poles are always recommended.
