Gather Together Where Stories Are Made
Book your next gathering at the Jug Handle Farmhouse
Some houses are simply places to stay. Others end up in the stories your family tells for decades.
The Farmhouse at Jug Handle Creek Nature Center is one of those storymaking places.
Imagine arriving at a beautiful 1870s Victorian farmhouse tucked along the Mendocino Coast, where everyone has room to unpack, settle in, and truly be together. The kitchen hums with activity as breakfast turns into lunch, and lunch becomes an afternoon sharing stories around the table. The kids drift in and out while grandparents linger over coffee. Someone finds the piano and plays a tune. Someone else starts a puzzle in the living room. No one is in a hurry.
Maybe you’ll gear up for adventure and walk down to the beach or hike the Ecological Staircase trail to the Pygmy Forest. Maybe you’ll gather the gang for a guided tidepool adventure or bird identification walk with one of Jug Handle’s naturalists. Or, maybe you’ll just sit in a rocking chair on the porch, and watch the clouds go by. The day is all yours.
Whether you're celebrating a milestone birthday, hosting a family reunion, gathering lifelong friends, or simply escaping life’s hectic rush together, our Farmhouse was made for moments like these.
Originally built in 1875, Jug Handle’s beautifully restored farmhouse comfortably accommodates up to 20 guests with eight inviting bedrooms, four bathrooms (two full and two half), a spacious living room, formal dining room, and a fully equipped kitchen designed for feeding a crowd. Historic charm meets modern comfort, creating a place that feels timeless and welcoming.
