Part Time Guest Host Position at Jug Handle Creek Nature Center

The Guest Host (GH) is an essential member of the Jug Handle Creek Nature Center team, helping create welcoming and memorable experiences for guests staying along the spectacular Mendocino Coast. Nestled between redwood forests, coastal bluffs, and the unique Ecological Staircase, Jug Handle welcomes visitors seeking connection with nature, community, and the outdoors. The Guest Host helps ensure that every guest encounter reflects the warmth, stewardship, and hospitality that define our organization.

This hybrid position combines guest services, on-call support, housekeeping, light maintenance, and grounds care. Working both independently and alongside a dedicated team, the Guest Host helps maintain clean, comfortable, safe, and well-cared-for accommodations and shared spaces while supporting the daily operations of our nature center. During on-call daytime and evening hours, the Guest Host serves as a friendly point of contact for guests, responds to questions and concerns, and helps ensure the safety and security of the property.

The ideal candidate enjoys working in a dynamic environment where no two days are exactly alike. Flexibility, reliability, strong communication skills, and a genuine appreciation for people and place are essential.

Reporting directly to the Guest Services Coordinator, the Guest Host plays a vital role in caring for both our guests and the beautiful spaces that make Jug Handle such a special destination. All work is performed in accordance with Jug Handle Creek Nature Center policies, protocols, and commitment to environmental stewardship.
