Accommodations
Our 33-acre property is a 5-minute walk to Jug Handle Beach. Our Nature Center includes gardens, forests, meadows, and nature trails, and you can access Jug Handle State Reserve Beach and the Ecological Staircase from your front door. We are located halfway between Fort Bragg and Mendocino.
We offer online reservations for our Farmhouse, Cabins, Cottages, Bunkhouse, and Campground. Reservations open up 6 months in advance for the campground and 9 months in advance for other accommodations. If you plan on bringing a large group (15+ people) and want to reserve further in advance, you can contact us directly at jughandlefarm@gmail.com. Please make reservations and view additional photos via our booking website.
Because we are a Nature Center first, there are NO DOGS allowed. We appreciate your understanding.
Farmhouse
Our 1870s Victorian Farmhouse offers 8 bedrooms, large common areas, and two beautiful decks overlooking the ocean to the west and an orchard to the east. It sleeps up to 22 guests and is a great place for Large Families, groups of Friends, small wedding parties and retreats.
Bunkhouse
The Bunkhouse is a modern building with 4 large rooms. Each room sleeps between 4 and 6 guests, and has it’s own designated restroom in an adjacent building, along with access to a shared kitchen. Rooms can be rented individually, or groups of up to 20 can rent the entire building. There is a large common room that can also be rented for meetings, classes, workshops and special events. This building is great for school groups, and family gatherings.
Cottages
Our two new cottages were completed in May 2024! They each sleep two, have a deck with a view, as well as their own kitchenettes and bathrooms.
Cabins
We have three cozy cabins that sleep between 2 - 4 people. These “glamping” cabins have a shared kitchen and bathroom with shower, in an adjacent building. Great for couples or individuals looking for a peaceful retreat.
Camping
Pitch your tent in our private, spacious campground of meadows and forest. Each campsite has place to park two vehicles, lots of privacy, a fire pit, picnic tables and a mowed area for your tents. We have one site with an electrical RV hook up (24ft limit) and we have one group campsite for up to 30 people. Campsites can be rented individually or by large groups.

Can I hold my wedding at Jug Handle? Yes, if you also use our accommodations. We only host events for people who are renting one of our large facilities, which include: the farmhouse, the bunkhouse or the campground.
How much do events cost? We change a $1,000 event fee for events with 100 or fewer and a $2,000 event fee for events of more than 100 people. All events must pay a $500 damage deposit, which is fully refundable if no damage occurs. Please note that the Damage Deposit fee will not be returned if amplified music or load noise continues after 10:00. Additionally, the cost of extra and extraordinary cleaning and extra port-a-pottie cleaning will be deducted from the damage deposit.
How many people can Jug Handle accommodate for an event? 140 people if you rent the entire facility. Smaller events can be accommodated per the following maximum occupancy: Farmhouse sleeps 20 people, Bunk house sleeps 22 people, the three cabins and two cottages can accommodate 10, the main campground with all 11 sites can accommodate up to 90 people.
What is your cancellation policy? Refund with 30 days cancellation notice, minus 10% service fee. Otherwise we refund you the portion of your reservation fee that we are able to re-book with someone else.
Can we have loud music? Amplified music is only allowed until 10pm. We recommend that any events start winding down the music at 9:00 with mellower tunes to respect our neighbors. Deposits fees will not be returned if amplified music or load noise continues after 10:00. Additionally, you will still be required to turn off your music.
How many kitchens are there? We have three kitchens - one in the Farmhouse, one in the Bunkhouse and one in our new building for the cabins
How many bathrooms are there? Four in the Farmhouse, Four in the bunkhouse, one for the cabins and seven port-a-potties in the campground. This is sufficient for most events.
How do you handle trash for events? Any group over 30 people will be required to pay an additional $300 garbage fee. This will lower our staff time for collection as well as the trip to the dump along with the fees. For campground groups we will provide cans for collection.
Can we purchase firewood? Yes we can sell you a truckload of firewood.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I bring my dog? Sorry, no dogs. For the safety and comfort of the local wildlife, as well as our staff and neighboring farms, dogs are no longer permitted on the property.
When is check-in and checkout? Check in is at 3:00pm and check out is at 10:00am.
What is your cancellation policy?
Single room or cabin: If you reserve a single room or a cabin you will receive a refund only if you cancel with 14 day notice, minus a 10% handling charge which pays for the credit card transactions.
Farmhouse or Bunkhouse: If you reserve the Farmhouse or Bunkhouse, you will receive a refund only if you cancel with 30 days notice. If you cancel with less than 30 days notice we will refund you only if we are able to rebook your space. All transactions are charged a 10% handling fee to cover the cost of processing the credit card
Camping. All camping spots are refunded with 24 hours notice but cancellations must be made through hipcamp.
We are going to have extra people is there extra parking? Yes. Overflow parking is permitted in the large meadow, on the left as you enter the property. Please be aware that we charge $15/person for each extra person in a campsite (more than 3 people) in a cabin or room (more than 2 people), in the Farmhouse or Bunkhouse (more than 12 people).

What type of kitchen equipment does the Farm House have? The Farmhouse has a wolf stove, barbeque grill, full size refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, two toasters, two coffee makers, all pots and pans, service for 30 people.
Is there a handicapped accessible bedroom? Yes, there is a handicapped accessible bedroom and bathroom in the downstairs.
How many people can stay in the Farmhouse? The farmhouse has bedding for 20 people.
What is the heating system? The Farmhouse downstairs is heated by a wood stove and the upstairs is heated by an electric heater in each bedroom.

What’s the bathroom situation? Each room of the Bunkhouse has it’s own designated bathroom in an adjacent building (where the shared kitchen is). Blue Heron and Grey Fox each have a two stall bathrooms with a single stall shower. Redwood and Pygmy each have a single large ADA accessible bathroom with shower.
Is there a handicapped accessible bedroom? Yes, both the Pygmy Forest and the Redwood room have ADA bedrooms.
How many people can stay in the Bunkhouse? The bunkhouse sleeps 22 people. we also have six additional mattresses that can be put down for additional guests.
What is the heating system? The Bunkhouse is heated with Renai wall heaters.

Do the cabins have a kitchen? All three cabins share a brand new eat-in kitchen. It includes a full size fridge, stove with oven, microwave, toaster, blender and coffee maker.
What is the bathroom situation like? The cabin’s share a bathroom with shower.
What is the heating system? Orchard and GrandFir have wood stoves. Eucalyptus has an electric wall heater.
Do the cabins have electricity? Yes, the cabins have lights and outlets.
Do you provide sheets and blankets? Yes, we provide all bedding.

What campsites accommodate a large camper or RV? Large campers (10 to 24 feet) will fit well at sites 4, 6, 7 and 11 .
How many people are allowed per site? Each campsite comfortably accommodates 6 people.
Do you have power & water at each campsite? Campsites 4 and 11 are the only campsites with power and water. There is potable water available to all campers at various spigots throughout the campground.
Can I cancel or change my reservation? Yes, if you made your reservation through Hipcamp, you must cancel or change dates through Hipcamp.
